Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
|Brand||Stag's Leap Wine Cellars|
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a tasty entry-level offering from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Deep, rich and resonant, but very much medium in body, the 2014 offers lovely resonance throughout. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice and mocha give the 2014 its plump, juicy personality
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Malbec. Among the top wines, it's the least expensive red in the Stag's Leap portfolio. An elegant style of wine, with notes of cedar wood, black and red currants and spice box, this medium-bodied, delicious, complex and elegant wine could easily pass for a second- or third-growth Bordeaux in a blind tasting. It should drink nicely for another 10-15 years.
This well-made full-bodied wine exudes a juicy core of red currant, cranberry and vanilla as a persistence of tannin provides power and wooded support. Oak and cedar play nicely together and add a wealth of savory concentration.
Well-built, with rich dark berry, cedary oak, savory herb and tobacco flavors, ending with earth-laced tannins that cast a gravelly edge. Drink now through 2026. 84,500 cases made.
All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted.
